Apple Crisp: Baked By a Store-Bought Enthusiast

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

Artificial as it may be, store bought apple/pumpkin/cinnamon spiced-EVERYTHING this season will always find its way into my shopping cart. As yummy as it tastes, my freshly-picked apples from Honey Pot often remain in a bowl until engulfed by fruit flies. This week, I decided to put too many apples to count to good use and make a crisp. So, it turns out homemade is pretty easy, maybe even easier than Ubering to the Hannaford’s. Here’s a crisp recipe from one beginner chef to another:

Ingredients for apple layer:

-Apples (sliced into small chunks)

-Sugar

-Cinnamon

For crisp:

-Butter

-Flour

-Cinnamon

-Oats

Layer bowl or pan with apple chunks, and spread crisp mixture atop

Bake for approximately 40 minutes on 350 Degrees

*Tailor ingredients to number of apples used*

Send HC Brandeis your final product, and we’ll feature it on Instagram!
