Meet Bowdoin College’s future president, Clayton Rose! On July 1st, Rose will replace Barry Mills and assume the role of Bowdoin’s fifteenth president. In the meantime, let’s get to know Mr. Rose a little bit better!
1. He’s currently a Professor of Management Practice at Harvard Business School. He teaches classes on ethics and societal problems and has worked with their administration on community values and the school’s honor code.
2. He worked as a leader in finance for 20 years, and he left his position as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer at J.P. Morgan in 2001 to attend Harvard Business School.
3. He earned his Ph.D. in sociology from University of Pennsylvania in 2007.
4. The Presidential Search Committee and Board of Trustees voted for him unanimously.
5. He has made it clear that he is dedicated to the common good and fostering the positive relationship between the town of Brunswick and Bowdoin College.
6. He and his wife, Julianne, have a home in York, Maine and share a love for the state and the town of Brunswick.
