Weather Confused in Bloomsburg

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

9:00 AM:

You wake up to your third alarm of the day in your cozy bed and try to decide if you want to be a real student or not today. A quick check of your calendar shows that you have a quiz in your mandatory 10am, so broken hearted you leave bed. You send the “uggs, sneakers or flip flops” snapchat to you close friends to outfit brainstorm for the day ahead. Take a quick glance at the weather app which says 43 degrees (lucky day!), throw on your favorite go to outfit: hat,  sweatshirt, leggings and moccasins and sprint out the door.

9:30 AM:

Walking up the main street mountain to campus you realize you might not have judged the weather as you would have thought. By the time you reach the steps of Carver Hall you’re dripping sweat  catching your breath and gathering all your motivation to make it to Bakeless at all. You get to class on time (no thanks to the three flights of steps you climbed) take a deep breath, and wish you wore a real shirt underneath your sweatshirt.

12:00 PM:

You get a text from your friends who want to go to commons for lunch. As you head out, it starts to look overcast (shocking) but you don’t stress it. As you pass Northumberland it starts to pour, you sprint in your socks and moccs (wool loves the rain right?) and make it just in time to miss the thunder. Your friends say “didn’t you check the weather this morning, should have brought an umbrella” as you wring out your sweatshirt and look for paper towels.

3:30 PM:

Your group meeting has been moved from Fog & Flame to the library (UGH really back up the hill?!?) so you start your trek back up. The rain brought a slight overcast chill which does not pair well with the $5 iced coffee you just bought from starbucks. You meet your group on the new side of first floor, and spend 45 minutes catching up from last night’s wing night at Good Old Day’s. Right as you start to work, the library heat kicks on (because we need heat year round right?) and you consider writing your literature review in your underwear.

6:00 PM:

After getting nearly nothing done except deciding on going out tonight (priorities), you pack up and leave the library to go home and get ready. You open the door to leave, you are almost blown off your feet by a 20 mph gust of wind, and honestly consider suing the owners of the iPhone weather app, Digging your feet into the pavement, it takes you 20 minutes to walk from Waller to the bus loop next to McCormick, nearly losing your school id and headphones on the way.

10:00 PM:

Your roommates are done pre gaming and finally ready to go out. You decide to bring your jacket for the walk to the bar, and after ripping apart your room for your ID (which was in last night’s jeans of course) you head out. You take the side streets on your walk to Capitol taking your time and look up just in time to see one of your roommates completely wipe out on back ice in the parking lot. After ice skating the rest of your way there, you finally make it in the bar and silently decide to live on Main Street next year to avoid this obstacle course. You set you three alarms for the next morning 30 minutes earlier than today, and a reminder to read the ENTIRE weather app update for the next morning.
