Valentine’s Day in a Long-Term Relationship

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

Being out of the “honeymoon stage” has its benefits, especially for Valentine’s Day. First off, it saves you both a lot of money because you don’t expect to wake up to 3 dozen roses and the box of chocolates that you only eat half of anyway. Being in a LTR teaches you to enjoy each other’s company rather than the materialistic things. Instead of getting dressed up and going to a fancy expensive restaurant, use that gift card you have laying in your wallet, order food in and watch a quality rom-com. Not changing out of your PJs and laying around with the one you love all day is ideal when you don’t want to deal with the new relationships who still think PDA is okay (it will never be okay). Not saying you should not buy your significant other any gift, a stupid stuffed animal or candy to share is always good. Once you have been in love with someone for so long every day feels like Valentine’s Day. After you clean up the crumbs from your sheets, get it goin’ in the bedroom ;)
