When you hear MTV, what do you think about? Maybe it’s “Jersey Shore”. Maybe it’s music videos. Maybe it’s even Carson Daly. Whatever the case, you can associate almost anything with MTV in the entertainment world.

That’s just part of the reason why we love MTV, so here are some more:

1. They give back to their fans. In 2011, MTV’s hit show “Teen Wolf” inspired two mega-fans–Kaitlyn and Amanda (yes, that’s me!)–to upload a YouTube video discussing their love for the show itself and the actors on it. MTV recognized their videos, so they continued to make them. These videos earned the girls a trip to the Atlanta, GA, set as well as many other visits with the cast. Now, Kaitlyn runs MTV’s social media platforms, and Amanda currently helps tweet for the network during some of their nightly shows. The girls even wrote and voiced the Animated Recaps that were featured on MTV.com this past summer. What a story!

2. They bridge the gap between celebrity and fan. You know how you always tweet Jake Miller and he never replies? It’s because he has a lot of followers, which means tons of fans are tweeting him every single second of the day. What if someone hooked you up with a little Q&A with Jake or another one of your favorite celebs? Well, MTV does just that. They frequently run “Twitter Takeovers” with the hottest stars of the moment, allowing fans to send in questions using a specific hashtag so the celebrity can reply to them. Not only does it make it easier for the fans to get noticed, it also helps the celebrity interact with their fans.

3. They are all over social media. You’re sitting on your couch watching “Faking It”, but you have no one to tweet with about that crazy scene between Karma and Amy. Guess what? THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. MTV’s show accounts are always replying and RTing fans, so you’ll always have a Twitter bestie to fangirl with at literally any moment of the day.

4. They know how to fangirl just like the rest of us. The VMAs are on, and Ariana Grande just slayed her performance. You’re tweeting about it like crazy, and so is @MTV. Kaitlyn (the previously mentioned TW fan and social media editor) is on her game and will definitely be freaking out about Ariana with you. She feels your love for Fifth Harmony, and she seriously wants to be Taylor Swift’s best friend. What more could you want in the girl behind the Twitter? And if you’re looking for something a little longer than a tweet, just check out mtv.com/news for updates on literally anything you could think of. The writers are going nuts over last night’s episode of “The Walking Dead” and want you to be the first to hear about the sequel to Frozen. Yaaaassss, MTV!

5. They want you to get in on all of the action. Everywhere. You just know you need to Nick Jonas’s stage manager for a day. You know you want to win some super cool Mean Girls swag. You desperately need a signed poster from the cast of “Teen Wolf”, right? MTV wants to hook you up. They hold countless countless for people everywhere to enter and win the sickest prizes. Imagine uploading a video of yourself reading a few lines of a script and then being cast on “Teen Wolf” for a walk-on-role? It happened. What if you uploaded a video of yourself dancing to a Miley Cyrus song just so you could win tickets to her next show? IT HAPPENED. MTV has you covered.

Be sure to keep up with all of the action on Twitter with @MTV and on mtv.com.
