Sweater Weather: Comfy & Cute Fall Fashion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

The start of fall means hitting the snooze button and cuddling under your covers for a few extra minutes, because your bed is suddenly irresistibly warm and the outside world is just so cold. When we finally force ourselves to straggle out of bed we are faced with two problems. One we have a lot less time to get ready due to our much needed snoozing and two all we want to do is we return to our warm and comfy state. Both of these dilemmas result in the same outcome. Cold weather+less time to get ready=you look a little less cute than you had hoped (it’s like math, only funner!). We’ve all experienced this, but fortunately there is a way around this equation. All you have to do is find balance. You don’t want to look like a hobo but you also don’t have the time or the wherewithal to look like a supermodel everyday. Here are some girls around campus who have mastered the art of keeping it comfy and cute! And you don’t even have to sacrifice those precious extra minutes under the covers!

Freshman Emily Zawatsky

Shoes: Toms Pants: American Eagle Jeans Top: H&M Sweater Scarf: Charlotte Russe

Emily’s outfit screams comfy and cute (discreetly of course). The sweater and Toms are the elements of comfort and the jeans add some nice structure making the outfit look more put together. Jeans and a sweater are obvi a great go-to but it is the scarf that really sets this outfit apart. And the adorable scrunchy (so in rn) doesn’t hurt either!

Sophomore Samantha Sternschein

Shoes: Steve Madden Boots, Pants: Leggings, Top: Necessary Clothing Sweater, Necklace: Sample Sale NYC, Sunglasses: Oscar by Oscar de la Renta

Samantha comes off as comfy but still trendy. It is the necklace and the sunglasses that really add to this outfit. Never underestimate the importance of accessorizing! Her necklace offsets perfectly the staple of leggings boots and a sweater. It lends an element of class (Always classy never trashy!) to a deceptively cozy outfit.

Senior Aly Christoforatos

Shoes: Tori Burch flats, Pants: Mystique Boutique (LI and NYC) jeans, Top: Express tank, Sweater: Mystique Boutique, Scarf: Target, Sunglasses: Versace

Aly looks so cute, but that sweater and scarf are the definition of comfy. The Tori flats add a nice touch and the ripped jeans give off a really chill vibe. She manages to pull off looking both put together and completely comfy. And after all, isn’t that every girl’s dream?

She was the Binghamton University Campus Correspondent Spring 2015-Spring 2016. She started writing for Her Campus second semester Freshman year and has loved it ever since! She is now a Binghamton University graduate with a degree in English and minor in History. She is an enthusiastic writer and reader, obsessed with social media, traveling, and ending misogyny. Her two great loves are Harry Potter marathons and sampling cheese. She is excited by the prospect of new challenges and can't wait to dive in and get her hands dirty.
