The American Election from FlorenceBy November 14, 2012 - 12:01am With the influx of social media, online news and video streaming, it wasn’t too difficult to keep up with the election. In fact, I couldn’t log on to facebook or Twitter without being inundated with someone’s 'wise words' and/or s'cholarly opinions' of the candidates. Note: sarcasm. READ MORE |

My Eurotrip Adventure!By November 7, 2012 - 9:59pm Hey guys, Sorry I haven’t blogged in a couple weeks, but I’ve been busy being a world traveler, ya know. For my fall break, I went on a 10-day trip, ‘the Northern Loop,’ where I visited Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris. READ MORE |

Exploring Firenze's MuseumsBy October 17, 2012 - 1:12pm As I was skyping my mom, discussing my weekend trips, she said, “That’s great, but make sure to take advantage of Florence while you’re there.” And then it hit me – I was so preoccupied with seeing all of Europe that I had been neglecting my homegirl, Florence. Granted, I wanted to hit all the vacation spots in Italy while its still warm, like Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast and Venice, along with Oktoberfest in Munich and Ultra in Ibiza, but that is still no excuse. So, my apologies, dearest Firenze, but now it is time to explore! READ MORE |

Bing Girls Abroad|| ApplyingBy October 13, 2012 - 5:49pm About this time a year ago, I was planing on what study abroad program I was going to apply to. And thinking about that reminds me that there are still plenty of people on our campus figuring out what program they want to do and figuring out the whole 'studying abroad' thing. So here's some advice on what to do if you're looking into studying abroad! READ MORE |

Partying AbroadBy September 26, 2012 - 3:00pm Besides the beautiful cathedrals, delicious cuisine and impeccable style, what’s the best part of Florence? In case you couldn’t guess, it would have to be the nightlife. No drinking age. Let me repeat that, no drinking age. Say goodbye to fakes, pass backs and making your older friends go to the liquor store for you. In a place where drinking is heavily incorporated in the culture and wine is cheaper than water, suffice it to say, you are always in for a fun night. READ MORE |

Ciao from FirenzeBy September 20, 2012 - 12:39am Ciao ciao! This is the first blog I’m writing from Florence, or as the natives call it, Firenze. Living with four of my friends in a beautiful apartment in Italy still feels completely surreal. Not to mention, my “classes” are elementary Italian, wine tasting, cooking Italian cuisine and a communications internship, so with the exception of writing weekly articles (which I enjoy) my classes are just a fun way to further immerse myself in the culture. Thus far, the most stressful part about studying abroad is planning weekend trips – should we book a day trip to Venice Saturday or spend the weekend in Amalfi Coast or Barcelona – ahhhh! So as you can tell, this semester is a vacation full of other mini vacations.... |

Binghamton Girls Around the World || Packing AttackBy August 30, 2012 - 11:32am O.M.G., I am leaving for Florence in 8 days. My excitement for going abroad surpasses the way I’d feel if going to EDC, finding the perfect black combats and getting a 4.0 GPA were all wrapped into one! My friends and I have been counting down this day for months and it’s so surreal that now I can do this countdown on my two hands! As I’ve been filling out ridiculous amounts of paperwork, booking weekend trips and even trying to learn Italian, I’ve forgotten (or purposely neglected) one very important pre-departure step: packing. I’ll be in Italy for 3 ½ months and I’m supposed to pack my life away in 2 bags and a small carry-on. Umm…. READ MORE... |

Summer Edition: Real Intern of NYCBy August 14, 2012 - 11:27pm You’d think companies would be dying to hire interns – intelligent, fresh-minded college students, whom they can pay little-to-nothing (or in many cases literally nothing), to do those jobs that no one else really wants to do and/or provide caffeine for the office. Well, not all internships are easy to find nor do they mean being the office slave. So after a stressful few months of researching internships, drafting cover letters and conducting phone interviews, I finally landed a paid internship at an advertisement agency. READ MORE |
