OMG, I’m Graduating!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

Graduating from college… wow. I can’t even believe that it’s a real thing that is happening in just a few weeks. I am graduating a semester early and am so proud of myself, but I also wish there was more time here at Binghamton University. I came into college a shy, nervous girl who didn’t even want to be here. I didn’t know if I would make friends. I didn’t know if I would survive the cold winters. I didn’t know anything about what was to come in my next three-and-a-half years.

College changed me for the better. I met people who are now my best friends for life, and I cannot even begin to express how happy that makes me. We laugh together, cry together, stuff our faces together and experience life together. We’ve grown up so much since our first days together, and I would not change any of our choices for anything in the world. They made us who we are now, and who we are is pretty freaking wonderful.

I’m coming out of college with confidence, which is something I never had before Binghamton. I now know my potentials and my dreams, and I know I can reach whatever I want to if I set my mind to it. I am in such a good place in my life that it scares me. What if I graduate and nothing is the same anymore? What if this good place spirals downward?

But I can’t think like that. No one should. Graduating is part of life, and it is an accomplishment that many people in life do not ever get to say they’ve done.

So, Binghamton. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for giving me the best friends ever. Thank you for helping me grow up.

Thank you. For everything.
