Name: Jesse G Year: Senior (’14)Major: EconomicsHometown: BinghamtonCampus “Claim-to-Fame”Singer/Bassist/Keytarist/Keyboardist for the band Basic Printer, Singer/Guitarist/Keyboardist for the band Strange Appeal, and Facebook page “Binghamton Crushes” Superstar

Hobbies: Playing & recording music, long & meaningful conversations, coffee, socializing & laughing. Favorite Binghamton Memory: Playing intense house parties with bands I’ve been in, and the general experience of living in CIW – the scenes and people heavily affect me. Personal Superpower: Rhetoric & free pizza! Go-To Outfit/Accessory: Flannels & skinnies, nawmeen? Musical Inspiration(s): I draw heavily from imagery. The stars, trees, the sun, the moon, nature as a whole – it’s all very important when it comes to the sound I make. I have numerous musical heroes (Nate Kinsella, Kishi Bashi, Thom Yorke & Tom Fec to name a few,) but any musician that has a tendency to be as calculated as they are uninhibited and creative generally charms the hell outta me. Idea of a Perfect Date: I think a date that isolates the important things in life is most effective. I don’t look for anything grandiose or expensive – I’d like to get dinner somewhere with plenty of character, somewhere with a sense of its surroundings. Local flavor, you know? Afterward, we could go for a drive at dusk/twilight, and find a place to check out the fading sun on the horizon. We could put on some Grandaddy, drink wine, and talk about past experiences and current thoughts.Celeb Crush: I don’t like idolization in this way. I’d much rather choose someone I know personally, that I truly love and care for. First Thing You Notice About a Girl: I want to say ‘smile,’ but I what I really mean is ‘general demeanor.’ The way a girl carries herself. Sometimes, a girl just has that inexplicable look about her that catches you. #1 Relationship Deal-Breaker: You’ve got to know yourself. You’ve got to be able to identify your passions, your beliefs, your sense of morality, and you’ve got to be able to carry yourself in the way that conveys these things. If you don’t know yourself, then we won’t be able to collaborate in a fulfilling way…it can be frustrating and/or disappointing. Easiest Way to Win My Heart: Cupcakes & listening to my music! Life Philosophy: The most important thing in life is extension of yourself through isolated development, creation of tangible things, and relationships with others who are also doing those things. You’ve got to get to know yourself, even if that (inevitably) leads you to some dark places. You have to be happy about who you are as a person. You’ve got to create things that can help you get to know yourself, and will allow you to leave your mark on the world and others. It is a travesty to allow the creativity within yourself to stay there…I don’t think there’s much point in living if you don’t express yourself. You’ve got to meet people and develop intense and meaningful relationships with them through collaboration of thoughts, emotions, and creations. I truly believe that these are the most important things in life, and that wherever you end up…these will be the things that prevail and ultimately satisfy you in life.
