Campus Celebrity: A-List Alyssa

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

This weeks Campus Celebrity has been an OA, ROA, RA and is part of APO, so it only makes sense that shes part of the BU A-List. Take a minute to get to know Alyssa Moya just a little better. You can also catch her this weekend in the Mandela Room as part of the Emerging Leaders Panel.

Its pretty apparent you keep busy and stay involved, can you give us a rundown of all the things you do?

My freshmen year I was a part of the Harpur Radio Station and worked for the library.  My sophomore year I pledged Alpha Phi Omega and became extremely involved in Greek life on campus.  Now, I am a resident assistant for Hinman College, work for Late Nite Binghamton as a programming assistant and I am also the service vice president of Alpha Phi Omega.  I also spent the last two summers here in Binghamton working as an Orientation Advisor.

You’re a junior so you’ve been at Bing for a while. Whats you’re favorite Binghamton memory so far?

My favorite memory was actually during my freshman year for my birthday.  I have a really early birthday and came to Binghamton by myself.  I didn’t’t expect anyone to remember or do anything for me since I didn’t’t really know anyone too well yet.  My roommates ended up throwing me a surprise party in our triple in Mountainview.  It turned into a cake fight that spread onto our whole floor.  It was really messy but absolutely amazing and one of the best nights I’be had in Binghamton.

Being involved in so much obviously wears you down, where do you go to recharge?

My favorite place on campus is the nature preserve.  I have a specific spot that I always go which no one knows about but I consider it my solace here.

It’s fall, the season of everything basic. Whats your favorite fall past time?

I know it’s a little lame and cliche, but my favorite thing to do in the fall is to go for walks.  I’m from Queens so the scenery here is something that I’m not used to.  When the leaves start to change it truly is beautiful and is something that I like to admire.

Halloween is right around the corner, got anything planned?

I’m actually not a huge fan of Halloween.  I’m terrified of horror movies and things like that so when Halloween comes around I usually just lay low. . I scare easily.

It seems like all of Our favorite celebrity couples are calling it quits. Which couple would you hate to see split?

I don’t follow the whole celebrity couples thing too well.  I guess if I had to choose a couple I’d say Beyonce and Jay Z because they’re the only couple I know right now. I’m too busy to follow all that celebrity gossip.

You can’t think of Cinderella without thinking of pumpkins, especially since it’s fall. Where would you go if you were Cinderella and your pumpkin turned into a horse-drawn carriage for the night?

My first reaction to this question was to say that I would go home.  However, then I thought about it a little bit and thought that I would want to go somewhere I have never been before.  I honestly would’t want to pick a place.  I’d probably let them surprise me because I’m always up for an adventure and something new.
