The Best Places To Eat In Binghamton

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

Is there anyone on this campus who doesn’t get tired of eating Sodexo food 24/7? If there is, I want to meet him or her. I’m pretty sure 99% of the complaints my friends and I have are about the food here at Binghamton. No offense to Sodexo, but it gets old after a while! Sometimes it’s important to treat yourself to a meal out. Binghamton is home to some AMAZING restaurants that are definitely worth trying! There are also ways to make it an affordable dining experience.

1. The Lost Dog Cafe

A Binghamton classic. The place where all birthday dinners are held. Home to the infamous rigatoni ala vodka. This place is just as great as everyone says it is! I’ve had the rigatoni a few times and it’s incredible…and also less than ten dollars! I’m partial to it so I’ve never tried anything else, but my friends have tried others and have raved about them. The famous dessert here is the good PMS, but I actually prefer the geisha, which consists of fried cheesecake pieces. What could ever be bad about that? I think my best friend only wants to come back to visit me so she can have this dessert again-it’s that good!

2. Number 5

The place we only go to when our parents are here to visit. If your parents are in fact in town, definitely eat here. The main dining room is pretty fancy, and the dishes are quite pricey, especially their siganture steak entrees. However, if you want to make it more affordable and eat here with your friends, it’s doable!  I have sat at the bar before and their bar bites are delicious, and are all around ten dollars!

3. Whole In The Wall

If you’re a vegan, vegetarian, or are gluten free, this is the restaurant for you! Their menu boasts tons of dishes that are friendly toward these types of eaters. Everyone has to try the garlic ball-an insanely good wheat roll baked with garlic butter sauce. All the veggies here are so good…it’s always so nice to go out and eat fresh, organic vegetables after eating so much ‘nowl! Prices here are also extremely low.

4. Cyber Cafe West

This is a cute, indie cafe located downtown. They always have live bands playing at the cafe which is a fun time. Their wraps and salads are amazing…a perfect little lunch place. It’s also one of the very few Binghamton restaurants that is open on Sundays! Definitely a great place to hang out and have lighter fare.

Happy dining, Bearcats!
