5 Activities Around Binghamton to Get You Hyped for Fall!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

While you wouldn’t quite know it based on Binghamton’s current blazing heat and the abundance of people still walking around in tanks and shorts around campus, fall has officially arrived!

Luckily for us, temperatures are about to drop very soon, and there are several ways to get hyped for every basic girl’s favorite season right here in the 13902!

1. APPLE HILLS

There aren’t many things that scream fall more than Apple Picking! Apple Hills is located just 15 minutes away from campus. Not only does it offer a scenic apple picking spot, but it is also home to a delicious cafe that serves breakfast and lunch as well as a country store. Be sure to pick up some apple butter for your dorm as well as enough apples to hold you and your roommates over until winter! (Cute instagram pictures, guaranteed)

2. UNCORKED CREATIONS

A less known treasure in the downtown Binghamton area is Uncorked Creations, a great painting studio that has a schedule of different fun painting classes every week! Check out their schedule on their website, as there are tons of cute fall themed paintings for the remainder of September and October (such as pumpkins, leaves, and even a Harry Potter painting!) You are guaranteed a really fun night with friends as well as a great way to fall-ify your dorm or apartment!

3. CIDER MILL

The Cider Mill, located in Endicott, is under 20 minutes away from campus and home to delicious apple cider, donuts, and a cute pumpkin patch (event featuring hand painted pumpkins!) Nothing will make you quite as “fall” as this cider mill, and be sure to check out them making the cider and try a cinnamon and powder sugared donut!

4. JACKSON FARMS

Jackson Farms is a great spot located in Endicott that has a huge selection of pumpkins for your pumpkin carving/ decorating needs. Perhaps even more exciting, on the weekends they have tons of fun activities such as a corn maze, hayrides, as well as a haunted barn! This is definitely not a spot to miss!

5. NEW ON CAMPUS STARBUCKS

Maybe not truly an activity, but nothing makes me feel quite a fall as a good Pumpkin Spice Latte or Pumpkin Loaf from everyone’s favorite coffee shop.  Definitely stop by the new location in Hinman Lower Dining Hall and try their new fall drink, the Chile Mocha Latte!

6. BONUS: ON CAMPUS

If you’re looking for some fall fun in your very own dorm room, buy some candy corn and those great sugar cookies with pumpkins on them and watch some Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus all night with your roommates! Bonus points if you embrace your artsy side and decorate/ carve some pumpkins!
