The Feelings of Waiting for “Stranger Things 3”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

When Stranger Things 2 was released this past October, Netflix was flooded with eager fans looking for long-awaited answers about the fates of Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will amidst their conflicts with the Upside-Down world. Season 2 certainly took some more complex and ominous turns in developing the characters and expanding their worlds—eventually bidding us with a chilling cliff-hanger of what’s to come for Season 3. To our dismay, we’ve got quite some time to wait for Stranger Things 3—but that doesn’t mean we won’t continue to feverishly speculate about what it might entail. Here are the many mixed emotions we’re sure to encounter as we wait for what is arguably the most-anticipated Netflix original of the year…

Our reaction after binging for nine straight hours, and finally finishing the Season 2 finale

Then—upon immediately delving into the matter—finding out that the Duffer Brothers announced Season 3 wouldn’t come out until 2019

The hollow feeling of not having any more episodes to watch for a full year. A. Full. Year.

What am I supposed to do with my time now?

Muddling through Netflix in a feeble effort to find a new show to fill our Stranger Things void

It’s clearly not going to happen.

When someone—obviously someone who’s never watched it—tries to give you the “it’s just a TV show” lecture

Because let’s be real, it’s more than a show—it’s a lifestyle.

Our fruitless attempts to stop speculating about Season 3 and our seemingly infinite amount of lingering questions

When you finally accept the disillusioning reality that you’ll just have to do your time and wait it out

Do we have to though?

Trying to play it cool despite our overwhelming curiosity about what’s to come for our favorite gang of adventurous ’80s middle schoolers

And, ultimately, taking solace in the fact that in the meantime, you can re-watch Seasons 1 and 2, plus the endearing cast interviews in Beyond Stranger Things

Native New Yorker Brooke Camarda has had her eclectic share of jobs—from the runways of NYFW to the haunted hallways of NYZ Apocalypse. Commonly known by her alter ego of Wonder Woman, there's no task or adventure that the skydiving-enthusiast isn't willing to take on. She loves typography and cappuccinos almost as much as she loves her (very) big family, and is thrilled to be writing for Bentley University's chapter of Her Campus.
