Why did you choose Belmont?

I loved the campus, but it was the creative environment and people that really convinced me of this school

Any Role Models? Why?

My Mother because she has worked my entire life to provide for my brother and me. She has a strong sense of faith and compassion. As a single mom things have always been rough financially but she always manages to provide us with what we need.

Shailene Woodley because she is a leader and trailblazer that uses her position and talent to promote important causes and protest injustice. She values people above material objects.

What is your favorite spot at Belmont? In Nashville?

My favorite place on Belmont’s Campus would actually be the top of the Curb Garage. You can see the whole campus plus the city of Nashville from up there. It’s amazing at night!

The best place in Nashville is Parnassus Books. It’s a small independent bookstore on Hillsboro Pike that has lots of author signings and events. They also have dogs on staff!

Fun fact about me:

I am half Japanese. My grandmother on my father’s side is from Japan and moved to the United States in her 20’s after meeting my grandfather who was stationed in the country while serving in the Air Force.

What is your favorite thing about HC?

I love the that it is a community of young women that are all at a similar spot in life. I think these are formative years and having a community to lean on and learn from is vital.

Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Sarah came to Belmont as a member of the class of 2019. Sarah joined the Her Campus Belmont team as a chapter contributor her sophomore year and took over as President just a few months later. While you'll find her studying corporate communications and theatre during school, in her free time she enjoys hot yoga, bingeing Game of Thrones, and working to make her chapter the absolute best it can be.
