A Sweet Day in The Square

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Yesterday the Her Campus BC Publicity Director, Alana Dolan and I headed to Chestnut Hill Square for a “sweet day” of fun. Having shamefully never been there, I was amazed at all the different stores and restaurants it has to offer. Only a few short minutes from BC, we mean it when we say you HAVE to check it out!

SoulCycle

We were a little nervous going into a SoulCycle class. Everyone there seemed like seasoned pros in their soul cycle t-shirts and leggings. While both of us had done spin classes before, we weren’t sure what to expect. But, the instructors were amazing. They helped us adjust the bikes to fit us and click our shoes in. After that we were on a crazy, exciting 45 ride without even leaving the room.

Our instructor for the class was so encouraging, constantly getting us to cheer for those who seemed to be struggling in their workout or just to keep the mood light. I will definitely be heading back again!

sweetgreen

To be honest, coming back to campus I heard about sweetgreen and the hype surrounding it from my roommates who stayed in Boston over the summer. I didn’t understand everyone’s obsession with it until I tried it for myself.

Not only is everything delicious but it’s local and fresh. The clear love of sweetgreen can be seen by the vast amount of people that checked out our post about the possible campus ambassador position

Francesca’s

My new favorite boutique and only a short drive from BC, Francesca’s has everything from trendy tops, dresses, and jackets as well as statement necklaces and earrings. We found these gorgeous headbands and each ended up taking one home!

If you’re looking for a birthday present for a friend or want to spice up your wardrobe I highly recommend checking it out. We’re already planning out trip back for more.

Sweet

Not only was the location of the store adorable, but with so many delicious options I didn’t know which one to choose. Should I hold onto the last bits of summer with the Pink Lemonade cupcake or embrace fall and get the Peach Cobbler.

There were the classic chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and unique ones like Honey and blueberry. In the end I decided to chose the strawberry shortcake cupcake and it was amazing! The six-year-old in me was freaking out wondering when I could have my birthday party there.
