By Joanne Connelly
April 16, 2013 - 9:34pm

Where were you at 2:56 pm on April 15th, 2013?  Maybe you were crossing the finish line of the Boston Marathon.  Maybe you were cheering on friends and loved ones in Copley Square, a mere hundred feet from the explosions.  Maybe you were sitting in Lower dining hall as silence swept over the hundreds of kids who had been jumping around, rowdy and exuberant, just moments earlier. By Paige Marino
April 16, 2013 - 11:22am

Yesterday was one of those days that you can’t even express with words.  It was painful, traumatizing, and terrifying.  Whether you knew someone running or were just out trying to boost the morale of the Boston Marathon runners, the tragic bombings are something that you will likely never be able to forget.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all who were affected by this tragedy.  READ MORE

By Meghan Gibbons
April 16, 2013 - 12:00am

Whenever you had a play date, there were always toys that you and your friends would run to.  While the boys were trading Pokémon cards and racing their Hot Wheels, we knew that our toys were better.  There was no better feeling than being rewarded for running errands with your parents. Take Back the Night Recap

By Niloufar Abae
April 15, 2013 - 12:00am

On Wednesday I attended Take Back The Night, part of C.A.R.E. Not only have a gone from no appreciation to a full appreciation of Marathon Monday, I am going so far as to say the best Marathon Monday experience, unless of course you are running, is experienced at Boston College.  Here's why: 1.     Heartbreak Hill 2.     CAMPUS SCHOOL Marthon Team!...

An Open Letter to My Body

By Elizabeth LeRoux
April 13, 2013 - 12:00am

If you are anything at all, you are mine. Almost every reflection of you I see is from the perspective of a fun house mirror, with society providing a completely distorted lens for me to view you through.  Most days, I see you as a manifestation of your flaws, and I constantly compare every part of you to those I see around me.  You often make picking out my daily outfits a challenge to say the least.  However, all of this being said, I am still proud that you are mine.   I embrace every curve, every freckle, and every frustrating flaw.  Although it may be hard sometimes, I remind myself that by loving you, every part of you, I win the battle against societal pressures and unrealistic expectations exuded by the college environment and the media at large...
