Meet this week’s Campus Cutie senior Brendan Sweeney! A varsity swim team member and all-around great guy, Brendan is simply the best.

Read on to find out about this week’s Cutie!

The Basics:

Name: Brendan Sweeney

Hometown:  Reading, Massachusetts

School/Year: A&S ’16

Major: History and Communications double major

BC Life:

Activities/Clubs: Varsity Swim Team, Eucharistic Minister, Marketing Academy

Best class: Crisis Communication with Dr. Fishman

Worst class: Advanced Spanish

Bapst or O’Neill: O’Neill third floor stacks all the way

Favorite place to eat on campus:  Hillside

A Little Bit More About Brendan:

Biggest pet peeve: It’s a tie between slow walkers and loud chewers.

One thing most excited about for senior year: It already happened, but tailgating in the mods is something I will always remember.  Definitely lived up to the hype.

Favorite ice cream flavor: Oreo

Favorite BC experience:  Celebrating Senior Night with my team in February.  My fellow seniors and I have come such a long way since our freshman year, so it was really special to celebrate all of our accomplishments together.

Why BC?  I loved BC’s academic reputation, probably the biggest reasoning behind my decision to go here, and I could also swim here which was a plus. One thing I have really come to value is the connection I have with my family.  I am a third generation Eagle, and I feel very close with my mom and grandfather. He died when my mom was young, so I never got to meet him. Going to BC has allowed me to walk the same campus he walked which I will always be grateful for.

Most embarrassing moment: My swimsuit ripped my freshman year during my 500 freestyle at the Terrier Invitational. It ripped on the first lap of twenty, so my butt was out for the entire race. I’ll never live it down; it was so embarrassing!

Fun fact: I have met Amy Schumer!

Favorite TV show: A tie between Friends and Parks and Recreation!

Celeb crush: Jennifer Aniston

Guilty pleasure: Anything involving Reese’s, I can never turn something down that has that in it.

Dream job: I would love to work on a successful TV comedy; I feel like I would be laughing every day on the job.  I think outtakes from TV shows are hysterical, so getting to see those live would be great.

Favorite hangout spot on campus: Hillside

Taken/Single: Single

Ideal date: Dinner at a nice restaurant then a movie. Nothing fancy, but something that allows my date and I to be ourselves without any pressure.

Deal breakers: If she isn’t close to her family.

Advice to freshmen: BC has so much to offer, so explore your interests and enjoy it! Take advantage of everything, from the amazing professors to the fun social life. You only have four years here and they fly by. Make memories that will last a lifetime with friends who will be with you for the long run.

Song of the moment: In the Night – The Weeknd

Senior year bucket list item: Going up to the Gasson Bell Tower!

Personal motto: Be adventurous, be kind, and be happy.

So next time you’re in Hillside, look for this week’s Campus Cutie Brendan!
