Meet the boohoo Style Squad!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Hello Her Campus readers, I am very excited to share with you that boohoo recently launched their brand ambassador program, the boohoo STYLE SQUAD, at BC! I just wanted to share this great news with you guys and tell you a little something about the program and about boohoo STYLE SQUAD. We at Her Campus BC are thrilled to introduce you all to another great and young organization and that will be a fun and productive partnership.

First what is the boohoo STYLE SQUAD? Well to put it simply boohoo STYLE SQUAD is an emerging leader in the e-tailer market. They are all about fun, being versatile and pushing the boundaries with fashion to bring us “fashionistas” what we so desperately crave, the latest looks for less!

Style Squad is present on 15 different campuses including our own with their brand ambassador program.

Meet the team: We were lucky enough to get in contact with some girls that are involved with boohoo! To learn more about them and boohoo just keep on reading!

Meet: Erin Fitzpatrick!

Hometown: Westfield, NJ

School/Major: CSOM Marketing Concentration

Year: 2017

Other Activities/Clubs: Her Campus BC, BC charity: water rep, Greeter in Admissions

How did you get involved with boohoo STYLE SQUAD: I just applied online by chance and started to slowly research and learn about the company. I also helped the Boohoo representatives form the UK at College Fashion Week and got to help them put on the fashion show and learn more about the company and what it was like working for boohoo.

Your role: PR/ Events and Programs

What are you most excited for this year (being involved with the ambassador program):  We are currently planning an awesome event for the week of November 20th where we will be raffling off boohoo clothes for very cheap ticket prices with other food and treats for everyone!

Looking to really involve the students here at BC with boohoo!

How do you plan to balance work and school: My motto is that life comes before school work and if there is an opportunity that I think will help my resume or give me experience in something I am passionate about then I should do it, and obviously fit in time for studying and school but I try not to stress about it too much.

Advice to freshmen about getting involved: Clubs and experiences other than classes are one of the best parts of going to a school like BC and you should take advantage of these clubs to discover what you are passionate about and what you love! College is one of your last times to be involved like this and one of the best ways to make friends is to get involved.

Why do you believe in boohoo STYLE SQUAD: boohoo is a great company and really has a fun view of fashion and how our age group should use fashion to express ourselves and grow personal style. Also, the very affordable prices and discount for BC students (25% with BCSTYLESQUAD4 code) makes these styles accessible!

What is your personal goal: Personally I want this boohoo event to have a good attendance. We are still working on the date but it will have (almost) free clothes, the money will go to charity, there will be free food and treats, and more girls’ night in goodies!

What is the SQUAD’s goal: We want to grow boohoo on campus and have this brand to be commonly worn and known at BC. The good quality, high fashion, and low prices all combine and make this perfect for BC girls!

Name: Kathleen Lang!

Hometown: Nashville, TN

School/Major: A&S; Communications major with minor in Art History

Year: 2017

Other Activities/Clubs: Writer for HerCampus, Women in Business, Tutor for Boston College Neighborhood Center

How did you get involved with boohoo STYLE SQUAD: After Erin got involved, she asked if I would team up with her to handle the social media side of the BC boohoo chapter. It has been an awesome experience so far, and we love working together for such a great company.

What is your role: I am the Social Media and Marketing Manager for Boston College’s boohoo chapter. This means that I am in charge of implementing marketing initiatives across campus, managing social media accounts, and working with Erin, the PR and Event Manager, to bring boohoo to BC!

What are you most excited for this year (being involved with the ambassador program):  Erin and I are in the process of finalizing a boohoo trunk show event for the 20th of November. We are super excited. There will be fun treats and a raffle of boohoo clothing! It is the first boohoo event on campus, and we hope to see lots of people there!

How do you plan to balance work and school: I have a planner that is always with me. I am constantly jotting down to-do lists or crossing off assignments—if I don’t write something down I will forget!

Why do you believe in boohoo STYLE SQUAD: boohoo is an amazing company filled with great people. Working with them has been super fun and a great learning experience.  I love that boohoo offers clothing that is trendy, affordable, and offers something for everyone.

What is your personal goal: As head of social media and marketing, my personal goal is to promote boohoo around BC in a way that appeals to the college-aged customer. That being said, I think it is important to have fun in this role by making posts creative, fashionable, and true to boohoo’s style.

What is the SQUAD’s goal: Erin and I hope to spread the word about boohoo around BC while getting experience in our respective roles as well as working together as a team.

Just remember to keep a look out for the STYLE SQUAD and stay tune don HC BC to learn more about when the event will be held and what to expect from the SQUAD this semester! Save the date: November 20th and remember to learn more and do a little shopping feel free to visit their website; boohoo.com and take a look at everything that they have to offer, you may be able to find that perfect little outfit that will give you just enough eating room for Thanksgiving with the family!

I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
