Meet Baldwin Eagle!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Meet Baldwin Eagle, Boston College’s famous mascot since 1966. This iconic bald eagle’s name comes from a combination of “bald eagle,” and “win,” and he has come to signify power, majesty, prestige and freedom on the Heights. He is brought to life by a group of anonymous students who are chosen each year at an audition, and you can find him all over campus, bringing BC Superfans together.

When Baldwin isn’t getting crowds pumped up at games, he likes to relax in his nest, located at the top of Gasson Hall. From such a high perch, he always knows when BC needs his support and enthusiasm, and can glide down to the people who need him, bringing the excitement they need.

Looking for Baldwin? You can find him before and after sports games, at the games, and at other important events on campus. Look for the giant bald eagle dancing, shaking hands, giving out hugs, and taking pictures. He is always smiling and cheering on his BC Eagles passionately, excitedly, and energetically!
