Life Lessons Learned from Buddy the Elf

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Ten years ago, the Christmas season was changed for the better. Rudolph, Frosty, and all of the classic Christmas characters were overshadowed by an elf. Or at least a human who thought he was an elf. You all know who I’m talking about… Buddy the Elf! So in honor of the tenth anniversary of one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time, we’ve put together a list of life lessons learned from the movie Elf.

Don’t be afraid to hug.

Smile all of the time.

The best way to end the day is by snuggling.

Family can be the most important thing in your life.

Never let others tell you that you can’t.

Believe.

Always give compliments.

It’s not that easy to ask people on dates. Seriously.

Sometimes it’s good to look at life through the eyes of a child.

Eat dessert first, or for every meal.

There’s nothing wrong with being kind of weird.

The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
