It’s Not the End of the World, BC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Let’s be honest here. Sometimes we all over-exaggerate the littlest things that happen to us. There are times when it seems like we all need to take a step back, remember where we came from, and how lucky we are to be where we are right now. Here’s just a few occurrences and events that I have to say, BC, are not the end of the world…

… Not getting a pick-time for housing

… A long line at Eagle’s during the lunchtime crunch

… Having all of the classes you wanted to take already closed

… Not having enough free time

… Seeing your ex happy with someone else

… Getting rejected from MA’s with your fake

… Not being a part of a popular club or service trip

… Having a bad coffee made for you at Hillside

… Not being an avid “Plexer”

… Not having a boyfriend/girlfriend

… The “hookup culture”

… Receiving fewer likes on your Instagram than hoped

… A poor academic performance

… An argument with a friend

… A bad BC hockey loss

… Not going abroad

… Gaining a few pounds freshman year

… Having difficulty choosing a major

… Rejection

… That bad hangover after a long night of drinking

… Losing an intramural game

… Having to fulfill the core

… Not getting a Mod

Take everything as it comes, embrace the opportunities and the ups and the downs of our four years, and remember, BC, it is not the end of the world.

Blake is a senior at Boston College and is pursuing Biology and Pre-Med, as well as the perfect slice of pizza. She is so excited to be a co-Campus Correspondent along with Emily this year! As well as being a writer for Her Campus BC, she is also a member of the Girls Club Lacrosse team, the Public Health Club, and is a physics tutor on campus.
I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
