With the start of a new fall semester comes one of my favorite times of year: football season. As much as I love cheering on my fellow my BC eagles, I have to admit that I know absolutely nothing about football. It’s not that I haven’t tried. Personally, growing up with African parents makes it hard to conceptualize football without a soccer ball. That being said, here’s how it feels to go to BC home games when I really don’t know much about the sport, according to Raven Symone:
1) It’s game day! The grills in the Mods are fired up and the smell of beer is in the air:
2) As we jam out to the music we can clearly hear thanks to convenient location of Walsh, my roommate and I do what we can to make our mustard colored Superfan shirts look good:
3) If we’re successful, we leave our room like:
4) And proceed to assemble with the rest of our friends at the game:
5) The first few minutes are glorious. The band is doing everything right and I’ve never been prouder to be an eagle:
6) Then the waiting sets in and I realize how long football games really are and think:
7) I start coordinating dance routines with my friends to pass the time:
8) But every time I look away I miss an entire play and don’t know what’s going on:
9) I admit I’ve even cheered for the wrong team by accident once or twice:
10) I might not have the most knowledge about football, but if you’re looking for one of the spirited eagles on campus then:
