How to be Productive without Leaving Bed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

As college girls, there will inevitably come a time where we need to catch up on sleep and take some time to rest after a long and busy week. Although hours of Netflix can be really relaxing, it’s often pretty unproductive. So, here are a few ways to help you be productive without having to get out of bed!

1. Organize your email inbox.

If you’re anything like me, your email inbox is constantly flooded with school updates, notifications, and loads of coupons, all of which create unnecessary clutter. Take the time to delete old emails and sort the rest. It will not only make it easier for you to find the emails that you need, but it’ll help you feel more organized as well.

2. Read a book or listen to a podcast.

Although these sound a bit more academic, they’ll be sure to clear your mind. Instead of reading a book for class, pick up or download a bestseller that you’ve wanted to read. Even reading just a few chapters will make you feel accomplished! Podcasts are another great option. There are tons of options that span a wide range of topics, so you’ll be sure to find something that you like. Serial is a really captivating one!

3.  Make a playlist.

Playlists are a great way to do something productive without actually feeling productive. Create a playlist for studying, one for going to the gym, and one that is just an all-around feel good playlist for late-night study breaks. Having these on hand will motivate you in the future to get some work done or to be active!

4. Call your parents or grandparents.

Last but not least, call your family. Odds are, you haven’t talked to them in a while between your classes, meetings, and social life. Catching up with your loved ones not only makes you feel happier and more relaxed, but it will also make your loved ones’ day. It’s so nice to simply share what’s going on in your lives; they’ll be sure to appreciate it!
