Whenever I go to the drugstore, I somehow end up with more beauty products in my basket than anything I originally jotted on my list. What is it with those Maybelline posters?! Before I know it, a trip for hair ties has lead to a new face wash, some lip gloss, and a nail polish. But, you might be surprised to find that some of my guilty splurges and much worth it. Here is a list of my five favorite drugstore beauty products!

1.     Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($6.49)

These makeup remover wipes are perfect for taking off makeup after a long day of classes, before a workout at the Plex, or after an endless night at the library (or Walsh). With one step, they remove all makeup including our beloved (but questionably permanent) waterproof mascara!

2.     Alba Good & Clean Pore Purifying Mini Peel ($8.99)

This facemask helps eliminate dull surface cells, dissolve stubborn pollutants and release imbedded toxins. Sounds worthwhile, right?! In just minutes, pores seem to disappear and skin looks bright, smooth and completely revitalized. It smells great too!

3.     Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer ($9.99)

Don’t let your summer glow fade as we enter the fall season! Apply this lotion in the mornings or at night to keep your summer shine.

4.     Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

I have been using this cleanser for years after my dermatologist told me to pick it up on from a nearby store; she swears by it and so do I. This mild cleanser soothes and moisturizes sensitive skin as it cleans leaving skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

5.     Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer ($14.99)

This facial lotion does double the work by not only hydrating skin but also protects from the sun with SPF 15. This daily moisturizer is clinically proven to even tone and texture, and it helps improve the look of brown spots, leaving your skin looking luminous. If Jennifer Aniston can’t resist, how can you?

Next time you make a drugstore run, switch up your beauty routine by trying some of my favorite products. You won’t be sorry you did!

I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
