Dear Newton,

As my departure grows closer, I can only think of all the memories we’ve had together. You have truly shaped my freshman year. During Admitted Eagle Day I didn’t even bother visiting you, for I thought you and I would never have a future together. Well…never say never. As I reflected, like BC taught me, I had an overwhelming wave of gratitude come over me. Thank you, Newton.

Thank you for teaching me that it is nice to “come home” after the end of the day. Through your small size, you forced me to create my own little family. However, the law students never became family like you promised. If anything they became weird 3rd cousins that I would occasionally eavesdrop on.

Thank you for showing me that some things come in small sizes. Stuart is most definitely better than Mac. Also, my parents, the Stuart staff, are the most overwhelmingly wonderful people to come home to.

Thank you for introducing me to my neighbors. I proudly feel close to my entire floor and know more than just my neighbor’s name. I love my close knit HOOTs and HOWLs that I previously perceived as forced and awkward.

Thank you for exposing me to the bus. I have seen how colorful the BC population is through bus conversations and observations – not limited to make out sessions, fights, plenty of awkward conversations, and BC look-away situations. Through the bus, you have enlightened me on the BC population and have created an excellent eavesdropper.

Although you have taught me so much that I will most definitely carry with me to lower campus…I don’t think you have prepared me for my new home — Walsh.

Thank you for all that you had to give.

Love,

Morgan

I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
