8 TV Shows That You Won’t Be Able to Stop Watching

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Almost everyone I know has some show that they are obsessed with. It is easier said than done to resist getting caught up in them. These TV shows have the capability to consume your daily life, but if you dare, here are eight of my favorites that will keep you coming back for more:

  1. Parks and Recreation

This comedy is my all-time favorite. The show follows an unpredictable Parks and Recreation department in Indiana. You will fall in love with every character as you become emotionally attached to them and their various and complex personalities.

  1. The Office

This is another amazing comedy that takes place in a typical paper sales office. The differences in the complex characters and the events that arise keep you coming back for more laughs.

  1. Law and Order: SVU

This show has been around for a long time, but that does not make it any less amazing. This show follows Special Victims Unit detectives as they solve crimes in New York City. Quick tip: seasons before Stabler leaves are better.

  1. Orange is the New Black

OITNB is a Netflix original and pure genius. This show takes place in a women’s prison and follows the lives of various women. With emotional backstories and humor to lighten the mood, OITNB humanizes the people who are involved in the correctional system.

  1. Arrested Development

This show is my newest find and I cannot take myself away from it. It follows the wealthy and dysfunctional Bluth family, whose father was arrested for dirty business. The laughs that arise from this show will make it difficult to turn away.

  1. Jane the Virgin

Jane the Virgin is another amazing comedy/drama show following a woman named Jane who was accidentally artificially inseminated. The show acts as a telenovela with its intense plot twists, romance, and humor.

  1. New Girl

New Girl is a feel-good sitcom. It follows Jess, a bubbly and outgoing woman, who lives with three men in an apartment. Their interactions and daily life will have you laughing and falling in love with the character played by Zooey Deschanel.

  1. Scandal

Scandal is a political thriller that follows D.C. “fixer” Olivia Pope. This show makes you think about our current political system, as well as follow Olivia’s ups, downs and love triangles. God bless Shonda Rhimes.

These shows are all amazing if you are looking for a new show to watch! Enjoy!
