8 Things To Do to Beans, Creams & Dreams

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Have you ever seen that shack outside of Lower? You know, that random one that’s always closed, except for Marathon Monday and random days during the summer orientations? It seems awfully wasteful to let it sit unused for what might as well be 364 days of the year. Here are some possibilities for the future of the conveniently located Beans, Creams and Dreams of Boston College!

1. Coffee Hut – This might be obvious, but how much more convenient would coffee be if you didn’t have to walk all the way into Lower and wait in line? Maybe I’m lazy, but I would prefer an outdoor coffee shop, especially on warm sunny days. Can we get some Starbucks on campus?

2. Burger Hut – Shake Shack taken literally? This would nice for those people not living in Mods that can’t fulfill their dream of grilling outside. Beans, Creams and Dreams would be the best!

3. Smoothie Shop – What could be better than a delicious smoothie on a nice day? Walking from off-campus and starting your morning with a yummy smooth would be the greatest! Or after the Plex! Or whenever you want, really.

4. Kebab Shack – A throwback to abroad, really. We all had our share of kebabs, and what would be better than having kebabs and falafel? They could be sold Thursday through Saturday, 11 PM – 4 AM (because, let’s be real, late night closes too early.) Who’s with me?

5. Bar – How convenient would it be to have a bar right here? Just saying…

6. Tiki Hut – Along the same lines as above, but themed with tropical drinks and accessories. For days when you just want to lie in the sun or darty and need party supplies, this is the perfect go-to! Not too sure how BC Dining employees will feel about wearing tropical attire though?

This could be us.

7. Secret Bakery –Florence had quite a few secret bakeries, and I think it would great if we had a not-so-secret Secret Bakery. Open on weekends from 1-5AM, offering croissants filled with Nutella, crème, and marmalade, just like in Italy. For those nights when you miss late night and don’t want Che Chi’s, but realize a nice croissant will do. This could also be super useful during late night finals studying when you need a “sweet escape”.

8. A Brew Thru – Like those drive-thru liquor stores down South, but instead of a drive through, more of a walk-up. Imagine the convenience, especially if you just need to stop by on your way to the Mods! No more Comm Ave shuttles to Res for us.

Do you have any suggestions for the future of Beans, Creams and Dreams? We don’t care what goes in, but would love to see our favorite shack on campus open more!
