6 Ways You Know You Go To BC

Boston College is home to over 9,100 Eagles. Each day, so many things happen that could only happen here at BC. Each year, a new class graduates and they begin to miss the little things about Boston College that we tend to take for granted. Her Campus BC decided to compose a list of 6 things that only BC students can relate to in collaboration with our fabulous Sister Chapter, Her Campus Mt. Holyoke!

  1. Hearing the Gasson Bell Ring

Every fifteen minutes, Boston College is graced with the sounds of church bells ringing from Gasson, one of the most beautiful pieces of gothic architecture in Boston.

2. Seeing Masses of People with Mac and Cheese on Thursdays

On Thursdays, we eat Mac & Cheese at the Rat & Hillside! BC students look forward to their weekly fix of Mac and Cheese and no one can ever take that away from us.

 

3. Becoming Partially Nocturnal

The work hard play hard mentality is very real. All-nighters, sleeping in the library or even leaving O’Neill in the wee early hours of the morning makes you wonder if you are actually nocturnal

 

4. Partying in Tight Spaces

Boston College is famous for the Mods: the small, red, shack-like housing units that are the most coveted senior living spaces. People flock to the mods for their weekend festivities, but they are always so overcrowded because the room itself is so small.

 

5. Watching People Slow Down in the Quad for a Gassongram

We’ve all seen that person who is trying to take a quick photo without people noticing, but trust me, we still notice.

 

6. Running into Tours at the Worst Times

Tour groups just happen to be everywhere right when you are running late. You want to be polite to show prospective students that BC kids are smart, intelligent, and well-mannered people, but you also have to take an exam in five minutes…
