The 4 Apps That Will Change Your Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Despite barely having enough gigabytes for the new iOS update, your phone needs these apps. We all have the typical apps: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat, and probably Yik Yak. But these four apps not only show off your techy side, but they also help you with crucial life situations, ranging from crying because of your alarm to drunk dialing your ex-flame.

1. Sleep Cycle:

Decreasing brutal wake-ups one download at a time. “Sleep Cycle” analyzes your sleep patterns and wakes you in the lightest sleep phase. Instead of waking up feeling assaulted by your alarm, you wake up feeling rested and relaxed. Throwing $0.99 at this is nothing for what it does for you.

2. Genius Scan

For those professional types out there. “Genius Scan” takes a picture (scan) of whatever you want -document, paper, picture-  and turns it into a PDF. This app is great if you need to send a document to someone on the go without sending the classic text picture. It can work for your internship, your professor, and even group projects.

3. Save My Place

Convenient for marking that perfect coffee shop you found in Boston, or even the delicious pizzeria in Italy. “Save My Place” lets you record places you’ve been so you can find them again. This eliminates you relying on your “keen” sense of direction when you want to revisit the little hole-in-the-wall place.

4. Drunk Dial NO! Block Mistakes!

Tired of waking up hungover and looking at your recent call list with regret? Drunk Dial NO!” hides a contact’s phone number(s) between 1 and 48 hours. There’s no limit on how many contacts you can lock, so block away. “Drunk Dial NO!” is a great app to help you avoid embarrassing apology texts the next morning and to keep your dignity in tact.

If you need to make room for these apps, you should start deleting some of those school-related apps you told yourself you would use but have yet to open. Or maybe the Dominos Pizza app. I had to delete that one; things got out of hand. You can search all of these apps on the App Store; however, you might have to throw a hefty $0.99 at a few. So worth it. Download away, and make sure you have the last app well before the weekend rolls around.
