Home for the Holidays: The Office Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bates chapter.

Returning home for the holidays is obviously great. No more stressful finals, food and goodies everywhere, and time to catch up on some serious relaxation time. Here are some relatable experiences felt when you visit home for winter break (good, bad, and inevitable experiences included) as told by characters from The Office!

The moment when you leave your last final, and can’t wait to get home to see your family (but mostly your dog):

The moment when you’re stuck in traffic/stuck at the airport/your car has a flat tire, but you just want to be home:

The moment when you enter the house for the first time, and smell gingerbread cookies immediately:

The moment when you then realize your brother, who arrived about ten minutes earlier ate ALL of the cookies:

The moment when you find your one true love (aka your bed), and sleep in for the first time in a long time:

The moment when you have your family’s annual holiday dinner, and receive the annual, “So are you still single?”

The moment when your dad sends you into town for groceries, and you have to dodge so many people from your hometown:

The moment when you are bundled up, drinking hot chocolate, watching your favorite shows, and can’t fathom the idea of ever going back to college life again:

The moment when your mom asks you to load the dishwasher, and you are suddenly okay with going back to school:
