A nationwide and international historical protest movement occurred this past weekend, initiated and lead by: women. On Saturday, January 21, 2017, major cities were filled with people protesting the impending doom that President Trump suggests to bring. Just a day after Trump’s inauguration, the Women’s March was a huge success–the turnout for the Women’s March was “yuge” compared to Trump’s inauguration in Washington, D.C.

The Women’s March had a clear message: we just want and deserve equal rights. However, people had very creative ways in getting the message across. Here are some of the best signs from the Women’s March, created by people across countries.

Many signs ironically used Trump’s language to depict their anger and frustration–even using his EXACT language (i.e. tweets). Some jestingly mocked Trump’s persona and his cabinet through puns (or even song lyrics) to get their point across.

(Ahhh the old Nickelback jokes never get old).

(No offense to anyone who enjoys Nickelback or Paul Blart: Mall Cop the movie… but come on, what were you expecting?)

(All Melania wanted was a sugar daddy… but check out the sign in the back!)

There were definitely sentiments of, “How are we still protesting this?!” at the rallies. Coming from, more specifically, our grandmas and grandpas who lived through the Civil Rights movement. They must be thinking, “Are we going back through history? Does history repeat itself?” and other existential thoughts. So please, send some love to the older generation who lived through this.

Along with the older generation, the younger generation were also marching for equal rights. It was definitely a sight to see–the older generation teaching the younger generation about love and happiness and how to preserve it. Another sight to see was little children holding signs you would not expect them to.

In these trying times, remember to love yourself and love others. Remember, you alone are a snowflake, but together we can create a blizzard. Let us not go back in history, let us move forward as a nation. As Aziz Ansari said, if day one of Trump’s presidency is any indication of our future, we will be okay. Together, we can do this.

LET’S DO IT.
