10 Times That Mindy Kaling Understood the Bobcat Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bates chapter.

Haven’t we all had a not-so-secret dream to become best friends with the hilarious and talented Mindy Kaling, who writes and stars in her own show on Fox, The Mindy Project? (Following her on Instagram and Twitter is halfway there, right?) She is a great role model – you can’t pull of her sassy style of self-deprecating humor without a seriously sharp wit, an incredible sense of self and the ability to not take yourself so seriously. Here are ten Bates situations in which Mindy Kaling pretty much said what Batesies were thinking:

1. When the Ladd printers spit out your 50 page reading…one…page…per…minute…

2. She could kill it in your sociology/history/women and gender studies/American cultural studies/African American studies/pretty much any Bates class ever with her understanding of race and gender constructs:

 3. Sundays in the library:

4. When the Bates WiFi crashes and you can’t binge-watch Netflix:

5. After eating five Italian almond cookies in Commons:

6. Realizing the beauty of your M/W/F v. your T/Th schedule:

7. The feeling after helping a lost first-year find Carnegie:

8. When it’s snowing outside (so basically from November to April):

9. Having an 8am on Monday mornings…pretty much any 8am ever:

10. Seeing your Commons crush:

Mindy, you’re killing it. Be our commencement speaker please?
