Weekly Wellness Tip: Take Care of Yourself

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Columbia Barnard chapter.

It’s that time of year, everybody: F-I-N-A-L-S. Between thinking about exams coming up and finishing my term papers, I know that a lot of us are probably feeling a bit overwhelmed right now. Totally understandable (and normal!), but here’s the thing: Just because you’re feeling stressed over schoolwork doesn’t mean you should stop taking care of yourself. I’m talking basic things here, like remembering to eat, showering, getting sleep, etc. Especially because we all live in a cesspool of germs, it’s key that we all try our best to stay healthy as we race towards the end of the semester.

If you feel like you’re going to forget the little things, try adding them to a to-do list to keep yourself in check (get it, “check”?!). Better yet, use moments like lunchtime and showering as a true break from work: Set aside your books, power down your computer, and grab yourself something delicious and/or wrap yourself in your favorite robe and really enjoy the next 30 minutes. And always remember that you are important, and deserve as much love and care as your favorite Instagram dog.
