Weekly Wellness Tip: Consume Inspiration

Normally when the word “consumption” comes up in the context of wellness, we’re talking about recipes or a diet trend. But because not everyone’s dorm is cooking-friendly and diets are just not what we’re about, this week’s tip has nothing to do with what’s in your fridge or on your plate. Instead, I’m asking you to take a look at your bookshelf, your Netflix queue, your mental bucket list...wherever you store ideas and things you want to remember.

Now, that book you’ve been meaning to read? The documentary you’re dying to watch? That album you never listened to? Go for it. This time of year, we could all use an extra shot of inspiration, and if we’re lucky to live in a time when every book, song, movie, and ticket can be ours at the click of a button, there’s no excuse not to take advantage.

Exhibit A: This weekend I went with a friend to a musical that’s been on my list for months, and it was incredible. I left the theater not only wishing that I had a Broadway-worthy voice, but also reinvigorated to dive into my own mediums of self-expression (hello, Her Campus!). So whether it’s a novel or an essay, a TEDTalk or a YouTube skit, expose yourself to something original this week, and let the magic lift you up.

Until the next time we chat, that is. ;)

HCXO!
