Stuck in My Head: Wynter Gordon

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Columbia Barnard chapter.

If I had to describe my music collecting process, I would describe it as a binge more so than a steady gathering of songs here and there.  This weekend, I not only ate up a storm with my family as we celebrated the Jewish high holidays, but I hardcore music binged.

The only difference is one comes with major calorie repercussions. #musicissuperior. Anyway, as I voraciously searched for new, great music on all of my top music blogs, I found many I would nominate for this blog. However, seeing that there has to be a winner, I will just name one—for right now at least.

The song nesting in my brain this weekend was the new Wynter Gordon song, “Buy Me Love” (Fareoh Remix). In case her name does not completely ring a bell, Wynter Gordon is the artist who brought us the popular song, “Dirty Talk” and a few other club hits. Although I am not impressed with the lyrics and the concept of a man buying a woman’s love, the beat is undeniably very catchy. Also, Wynter’s voice definitely exhibits Lady Gaga-esque qualities in this song. When you are vocally allied with the queen of Pop, whether intentionally or not, you are bound to succeed (or perhaps, you’ll be labeled as terrible poser—the former is what I expect will happen!)  Regardless, I truly believe “Buy Me Love” has potential to be a huge party song.  You can bet I’ll be dancing to it!

Until next week, music-philes!
