Last fall, Barnard BFFs Paulina and Olivia gave you a rundown of their fall TV predictions. Now, they’re back to give you an update on the status of those shows and their predictions for new favorites and what will pull a Joey and get cancelled without even finishing out a full season.

Quick Updates

1) Late Night with Stephen Colbert: Still on the air. (YES! DUH!)

2) Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris: Cancelled after eight episodes. (Not surprised.)

3) Life in Pieces: Still on the air. (Okay, Parenthood-Light. We see you.)

4) Scream Queens: Picked up for a second season. (YAS QUEENS)

5) Limitless: Still on the air (#surprising)

6) Blood and Oil: Cancelled after 10 episodes. We’re surprised it lasted that long.

7) Quantico: Still on the air. Olivia watches and likes this show.

8) The Grinder: Still on the air. Everything Rob Lowe touches turns to *~gold~*, but probably because he always has a spray tan.

9) Code Black: Still on the air (unfortunately hard to watch CBS shows without a cable subscription)

10) Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: Still on the air AND won a Golden Globe!

New Show Predictions

Lucifer

Olivia: This looks like it has high potential to be terrible. Also, I’m unsure what the deal is. Is it a buddy cop show? A fantasy show? I don’t know what’s going on. Basically, I don’t think it’s the first thing I’ll try out, but if I’m like super bored maybe I’ll watch.

Paulina: I literally couldn’t even make it through the promo video. This show looks so so bad. The shots of the cars look very Entourage-y, which intrigued me, but then it just got weird and bad. Also, I hate the whole “What if the devil came to the city of angels?” tag line. Bye!

Colony

Olivia: Is this an alien invasion situation? My first thought was “Hey, Sawyer. Is this Lost 2.0?” and, to be honest, I think that’s kind of what it is. But I loved Lost, so I’m actually kind of pumped for this show.

Paulina: Yeah, I was also totally confused by this show, but also super intrigued. It looks good and not like it’s going to be too too ridiculous given that it’s a dumb concept. Will keep you posted.

Mercy Street

Olivia: Paulina is not going to be down with this is my prediction. I saw a trailer for this show when I was home with my parents and, in unison, they both said “ehhh.” They watch a lot of PBS so I trust them.

Paulina: Olivia is spot on about my feelings on this one. Being interested in Civil War revivals is sooooo 2008. Also, did Americans during that time have English accents? This show looks overwhelmingly “EH”.

Shadowhunters

Olivia: To reference another one of my family members, my brother saw an ad for this show and said, “This looks like all the worst things about television.” So, there’s one man’s opinion. Also, I’m not down with Freeform. You will always be ABC Family to me!

Paulina: Shadowhunters looks like a bad TV version of a bad Halloweentown, so I’m out. Also, STILL not over the name change from Fox Family to ABC Family, so I’m obviously not down with Freeform.

Shades of Blue

Olivia: Despite the J Lo factor, this show still kind of looks like something my grandparents would be super hyped for.

Paulina: I already watch this show and it is so so good. J Lo is AMAZING and I love cop shows. Give this one a watch, you won’t regret it.

American Crime Story

Olivia: Um, this show looks amazing and I haven’t watched it yet, but I’m so excited to. It basically looks like a TV version of Serial, which is my favorite.

Paulina: THIS IS ALL I’VE EVER BEEN WAITING FOR!!!! Everyone is obsessed with the OJ Trial lately which is totally fine by me. So juicy. Also, two of the characters (Kris Jenner and Faye Resnick) are currently both on reality TV so it’s really just a great combo.

Angel from Hell

Olivia: I honestly don’t know what to think about this one. Jane Lynch is funny in doses but a whole show around her sounds like a lot. The commercial looked decently funny though, so we’ll have to wait it out and see on this one.

Paulina: I think this looks funny! I love shows that feature guardian angels (hellllo, Drop Dead Diva!). Plus, it has Maggie Lawson AKA the girl from Psych AKA the girl from Model Behavior! That film was a classic, so I’ll give this one a go!
