The Art of Relationships: Valentines Day--Dress to Impress

By Anna Batchelor
February 7, 2013 - 10:49pm

This article is a little bit raunchier in the spirit of Valentines Day. Cover Cupid’s cute little putti ears because we are about to get real about some serious ways to live up to V-Day sex expectations. There is a lot of pressure to put Valentines Day as the single most important day for love – it can get a little stressful and stress is not sexy. To lighten your load I have supplied you all with some very clever, creative, inexpensive and sure-to-please ideas for the boudoir. Try putting aside your “I respect myself way too much as a woman to do that”- attitude for just one night and enjoy this opportunity to live into your sexuality. Dressing up for your significant other can be a lot of fun (especially once you see his or her reaction!)....

Zen and the City: The Internship Craze-and how NOT to go crazy!

By Liana Gergely
February 1, 2013 - 7:17pm

February gets a bad rap. It’s cold (okay, really cold), it’s the start of an endless stream of midterms, and everywhere you look its JP Morgan this…Career Fair that…business attire this…”work on your interview skills” that.  Those are the sweet words that let you know, that whether you like it or not, its time to start applying to summer internships.   I put on my best pencil skirt, print out my resume, and brace myself for what really seems like a “fifth” season somewhere in between winter and spring. And then it hits. READ MORE

By Anna Batchelor
December 17, 2012 - 12:00am

Now that finals season has official began, I thought I would offer you guys some of my tried and true methods for staying sane during the craziest part of the semester. With the promise of home on the horizon, we all need to just keep calm for a few more days, take our final exams, throw away all our over-worked papers and get the heck out of here. Just a few more days, ladies, we can do it. This is what I use to make sure I get through the week without pulling all my hair out, frightening my roommates or curling up in a ball and crying myself to sleep (all things I’m ashamed to admit have happened to yours truly during past finals weeks). LeSportsac's Holiday Extravaganza!

By Giselle Boresta
December 13, 2012 - 6:11pm

If you're not sure where to go to find gifts for ALL of your friends and family this season, make sure that the super cool new LeSportsac pop-up store is your first stop. Located on the UWS at 248 Colombus St. (72nd St.) the pop-up store arrives just in time for the Holiday season. LeSportsac is known for their lightweight nylon bags that come in a ton of fun colors and patterns--in my opinion, perfect for traveling. They weigh practically nothing and stand out against the sea of black that everyone feels obligated to travel with. Really, it's a no-brainer. Plus, they have tons of great little pieces that are well-priced and PERFECT for your endless Secret Santa obligations. READ MORE

Packing like a Pro

By Jordan Sholem
December 1, 2012 - 12:24am

When going through airport security these days, it is almost guaranteed that there will be a problem with your luggage. TSA will probably determine that your carry on bag is too large and you will have to check it at the gate. This may lead to it being lost and you will most likely spend the first few days of your vacation living out of a friend or family members suitcase, or worse, the hotel gift shop. However, if you master the art of effective packing by simplifying your wardrobe, you will have a much more relaxing trip. READ MORE

By Anna Batchelor
November 19, 2012 - 12:00am

Who doesn’t love the holidays? Whether you’re religious or not, the spirit of the holiday season is impossible to escape and is usually a positive influence on our hectic, over-stressed, under-celebrated lives. Usually. I’ve found that as I get older, the holidays have started to come with a bit more stress than they did when I was nine. Whether it’s because I’ve come to understand the calorie count of Thanksgiving dinner or because Santa Claus has lost his charm, for the last couple of years I’ve needed a proactive plan of attack to get through the season. Here are my fail-proof steps to staying sane during the not-so-sane holiday season.   READ MORE
