Enter: fall. For some, it means sweaters, crunching leaves, and pumpkin spice everything. For others, it’s all of those things, plus new beauty trends. Colder temperatures usually usher in darker lips and heavier eyes, and while that’s still the case, there’s a little more to it in 2015. Updating your look every season is always fun, but when it means buying new products, things can add up quickly, so we’ve found products to achieve these looks for every budget. Now, we won’t stop you from swiping on black lipstick and some extra liner (in fact, we would applaud you for it) – but for those who want to ease into things, here are five makeup trends for the new season that we’ve collected from the Fall/Winter 2015 runway.

The Coordinated Flush (as seen at Michael Kors)

Picture yourself on a brisk walk through Central Park. The blue sky cuts through orange leaves as you walk in the direction of a gentle breeze, and while you move along the path, crisp air pinches your cheeks pink. Unfortunately, you have midterms coming up soon, so you probably won’t find yourself on long walks anytime soon. Instead, take a page from Michael Kors’ book and fake a fall flush (try saying that five times) with a double-duty cheek and lip stain.

Products:

Low: The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick ($16)

Mid: Stila Convertible Color ($25)

High: Charlotte Tilbury ‘Norman Parkinson – Color of Youth’ Healthy, Happy Lip & Cheek Glow ($58)

The Power Brick Lip (as seen at Phillip Lim)

Red lips are a 24/7, 365 good choice. There’s never a time when they aren’t appropriate, so long as you know how to cater tones, textures, and transparencies to the occasion. This fall, do something different with your red lip and go for a shade that leans a little darker. A brick red lip is a great way to update your beauty look for fall, and for bonus points, combine it with bold brows and minimal skin, keeping all the attention on your pout.

Products:

Low: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 107 ($5.49)

Mid: Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bad Blood ($22)

High: Yves Saint Laurent ROUGE PURE COUTURE Lipstick in Rouge Rock ($36)

The Under Smoke (as seen at Roberto Cavalli)

By now, you’re probably still in love with winged liner, but over the state of frustration it leaves you in after many failed attempts. Luckily, messy lower lash lines are the new crisp upper lash lines. Ditch your felt tip liner for a pencil and a Q-tip for finishing touches. It’s an easy liner look that won’t make you late for your 8:40.

Products:

Low: L’oreal Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner ($8.99)

Mid: Benefit BADgal Waterproof Eyeliner ($20)

High: NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Via Veneto ($25)

The Gold Rush (as seen at Tadashi Shoji)

Metallic eyes have been a fall trend for a few years now but this time around, go for the gold – shadow, that is. Instead of a bronze or a copper, opt for shimmering gold eyelids. For a subtler daytime look, pair the gold shadow with a touch of black mascara, and keep the rest of the face bare. Apply the shade with a slightly damp brush or pat on a pigment for an extra metallic punch.

Products:

Low: Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow in Bella Gold ($3.19)

Mid: Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Thrasher ($21)

High: Bobbi Brown Metallic Eyeshadow in Burnt Sugar ($24)

The Serious Flutter (as seen at Giambattista Valli)

In the next couple months, try doubling your mascara usage. We’re not advocating for clumpy spiderleg lashes, but we do love a good statement lash. For those who don’t have the patience for lash extensions or falsies, this season’s amped up eyelash trend is a quick way to put all the focus on the eyes with minimal effort.

Low: L’oreal Voluminous Miss Manga ($7.99)

Mid: Clinique High Impact Mascara ($16.50)

High: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($23)
