Top 5 Places to Take Bathroom Selfies on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Augustana chapter.

Okay, let’s get serious: bathroom. selfies. are. important.

Not only does the occasional mirror selfie switch up your selfie vibe on insta from focusing on your face to focusing on the ‘fit, BUT it gives you the ability to play with more angles and lighting in different environments. Most of these bathrooms are windowless environments, with no natural light–which makes bathroom mirror selfies a true art form

5. Hanson (Third floor)

The third floor of Hanson is no man’s land, I rarely see anyone up there unless they have class (which is the only reason I’m up there). Like Sorenson, since it is not a high trafficked area, you won’t have to worry about people walking in on your selfie time. The lighting is pretty good, but what I like the best is the large amount of vanity and mirror space. Your whole squad could meet up for a group mirror pic.

4. Old Main (any floor)

Old Main’s bathrooms give me a 4 star hotel bathroom vibe. Its modern design, dark walls, but strong lighting make you look pretty dang good. The walls aren’t busy, the mirror reaches a little below waist height so you can almost get the full ‘fit in the photo. And, there’s a lot of space around you for different poses and distances from the mirror.

3. Sorenson (First floor)

I would rather jump off the Sorenson bridge into oncoming traffic than walk all the way over to Sorenson, BUT it’s not a heavily populated building or well frequented, so their bathroom’s are empty most of the days, giving you the alone time you need for a quick bathroom selfie. On the first floor Women’s bathroom, ou can get about a waist-up view of yourself in the mirror, and the lighting is pretty decent. The mirror is nice and wide so you have a large canvas to see yourself in. In the individual bathrooms, as shown below by Carli Schwanebeck, that’s where the magic happens (since you don’t have to worry about anyone walking in on you).

2. CC (first floor)

The CC full length bathroom mirror lets you show the WHOLE ‘fit. Not only is it body length, but it is wide enough for multiple poses, or pics with friends. To the left of this mirror, there is also a second, shorter height wall-length mirror, set up with a faux-vanity with chairs if you’re feeling a sitting selfie. The only precaution about the CC bathroom selfie is that the mirror is right next to the door, so you may get caught selfie-ing after a class gets out or during the lunch hour, but don’t fret; own that selfie.

1. Bergendoff (First floor)

Okay, if you haven’t taken a bathroom mirror selfie in Bergendoff, you haven’t LIVED. On the first floor women’s bathroom, there is a wall long mirror about waist-up height that I’ve never looked bad in (and neither has Devyn Absher who, pictured above, frequents the Bergendoff bathroom for selfies). The best part about the Bergendoff bathroom is that there is a window, so natural light can come in. Which is why, the Bergendoff first floor bathroom is the best place on campus for a mirror selfie. Take my advice; your insta followers will love this location.
