5 Last Minute Gift Ideas for Your Mom on Mother’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Augustana chapter.

For whatever reason, Mother’s Day always ends up around finals time. As the busy college kid narrative goes, we completey forgot about Mother’s Day and now we have to think of something last minute. Our moms mean the world to us (I don’t know where I’d be without mine!) so here are some last minute gift ideas that will brighten her day.

1. Flowers. Not able to be at home for Mother’s Day? Call up the local florist in your hometown and send her a bouquet. Even if you can’t be home with her, she’ll enjoy that you remembered her.

2. Photo album. Of course you and your Mom have some awesome pictures that you have taken together throughout the years. Compile these photos and put together an album. Oftentimes stores have specials on photo prints (shoutout to Walgreen’s!) around special times like these. All you need is some photos, an album and you’re set. You could even pick your most favorite photo of you two, get a frame, and voila!

3. Candle, lotion, purfume, book, chocolate, etc. Mother’s Day is for appreciating the mom’s in all of our lives. Even if it’s just a little candle, a bottle of her favorite lotion/perfume, a book she’s always been wanting to read, or her favorite kind of chocolate from your local candy store, she will appreciate it. Treat her. Mother’s Day is all about her.

4. Gift card. Gift cards are quick and easy–while some may see gift cards as “cop out” gifts–I personally think they’re the best gift, because it gives the receiver the freedom to spend it on what they want. Make sure you get it for a place your Mom actually likes though…

5. Food. If your mom is anything like mine, she hates cooking. Take her out to dinner or if you’re not with your mom for Mother’s Day, call up her favorite resturuant and ask them to deliver her a nice dinner.

Honestly, anything you get your mom she will appreciate. Even if it’s just a call home or a nicely written card. It really is the thought that counts
