Five Fall Activities that are a MUST Before Winter Comes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

There’s something magical in the air, when the leaves begin to change and the weather turns cool. The smell of bonfires and roasted marshmallows float on the evening breeze. One could argue that fall is the best season of the year and here are five, fun-filled activities to prove it.

1. Go to a pumpkin patch

Every girl’s instagram feed is filled with a sea of orange as soon as the calendar hits October. Not only is the pumpkin patch a great place to snap a new profile picture, but it’s also fun to pick out the perfect orange pumpkin to bring home.

2. Carve a jack-o-lantern

After bringing home said pumpkin, it’s time to carve a cute design out of it! Let’s face it, I have never actually carved my own pumpkin (ew pumpkin guts) but I’m an excellent supervisor! Don’t forget to save the seeds to cook for a perfect fall snack.

3. Go to an apple orchard

Don’t you just love going to the grocery store and seeing rows and rows of perfectly round, glossy, red and green apples? Wouldn’t the experience be even better if you could pick your own apples straight from the tree? An apple orchard is the perfect place for yet another photo shoot and you can bring some pretty tasty souvenirs home with you.

4. Bake a pie

After picking your own apples, might as well bake a homemade pie! Pinterest has a ton of amazing recipes, but I recommend calling your grandma and getting her special recipe; trust me it’ll taste better and the hard work of hand making the crust will definitely pay off.

5. Go to a bonfire

How else do you keep yourself warm on a chilly fall night? Bundle up in a chunky knit sweater and sit out under the stars, enjoying a bonfire with your closest friends!
