There’s something sexy, sensual, and erotic about spraying a good perfume onto your body. After all, it was legend Coco Chanel who said, “Where should one use perfume?… Wherever one wants to be kissed.”

However, there’s a secret way of putting on perfume- majority of the time, women actually apply it wrong.

According to Marie Claire magazine, there are a few places women should spray perfume: your hair, behind your ears and knees, down your back, and inside your elbows. These are the biggest endogenous zones and will help you smelling great all day long.

Typically, women apply perfume on their wrists and rub them together, however, this will actually deteriorate the scent faster.

Further, there are also different layers of perfumes. When you first spray, you will be smelling the top note. Don’t be fooled, this is the scent that will not being sticking around the longest. However, if you like the top note of the perfume, spray some on a tester sheet and revisit the scent after about ten minutes.

The perfume has now moved into the middle and heart notes- the scent that lasts after the top note has lifted.

To fully smell the perfume, wait until the end of the day and sniff the tester sheet once again. This is called the base note which is the scent that is going to linger the longest on your skin. If you are happy with the base note, it is safe to say that the perfume is a worthwhile purchase!
