Twitter Royalty Chrissy Teigen Makes Her Account Private

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

Internet trolls ruin everything.

Chrissy Teigen’s Twitter has been Internet gold for a while now as she posts about her hatred for Donald Trump, calling out haters, her cute relationship with her husband, her adorable baby, and her raw and funny real life situations. Unfortunately, due to some negativity, Chrissy Teigen has made her Twitter account private. THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS!

Teigen live tweeted with us during the first Presidential Debate and had us rotfl. During the VP Debate, after tweeting what we were all thinking, she suddenly changed the privacy setting on her account and tweeted she’s “not strong enough anymore.”

Internet trolls have attacked celebrities before to where they’ve removed themselves from social media. Recently, Leslie Jones deleted her Twitter account after she experienced harsh bullying. She has since made a new account, but that hasn’t stopped haters from attacking her and other celebrities from behind a computer screen.

“It’s not haters or trolls or generally mean people,” Teigen said via Twitter. “I just feel like I am absorbing bad shit 24/7. My body and mind cannot handle it anymore.” The “bad shit” most likely stemmed from tweets she released earlier in the night that were critical of VP nominee Mike Pence’s debate performance. One, which has since been deleted, read, “Whoa we are witnessing the death of Pence’s batteries.”

Teigen and her husband John Legend have been avid Clinton supporters in this election. They have traveled in support of Clinton’s campaign and have even hosted debate-viewing parties.

To honor Chrissy Teigen and her Twitter account, here are some of our favorite tweets of hers:

That time she proved that even celebrities hate diets:

That time she had the best idea ever:

That time she got real about pregnancy:

That time she admitted to watching good and trashy TV just like us: That time she called out Apple:

We wish you this best, Chrissy!
