Location, location, location. Sometimes an entire study session can be ruined if you are in the wrong place. Here’s a list of my top 5 places to study on campus.

Behind Whitewater Café

Ok, so you know where Whitewater Café is, right? Well, go through the doors in the back and there is this beautifully quiet and secluded area with high-top tables. This is one of my personal favorites because it is so quiet, and you aren’t likely to run in to someone you know (i.e. a distraction).

2nd Floor of the Student Union

Although the second floor of the PSU can get a little busy, throw in some headphones and it’s the perfect place to study. There are just enough people where you aren’t lonely, but also not so many people you can’t concentrate. Also, there are some huge windows that look out onto the campus that are great for inspiration and thoughtfulness. (Bonus! There is delicious food nearby at Cascades.)

The library

Ok, so it may seem like a bit boring to study in the library, but it truly is a great place to study. If you want quiet, you can go to the back of the 1st floor or the 3rd floor. Feeling a social study sesh? Head up to the 2nd floor. There are so many nooks and crannies in the library, almost anyone can find a spot that suits their study needs.

The picnic tables between Belk and Central

I know it may be tempting to study on Sanford Mall on a nice day, but let’s be real, how much work do you actually get done? A great way to enjoy nice Boone weather and also be productive is to study at the picnic tables between Belk Hall and Central. People hardly walk by there, but you still get to enjoy the hubbub of central campus. In nice weather, it is the ideal place to study.

Crossroads

Ok, so obviously this place can get quite busy, but nothing helps me focus like the smell of coffee. If you can find a seat in Crossroads, it is a beautifully relaxing place to study (but only if you like the smell of coffee).

Happy studying everyone!!
