Things To Do With Your S.O. On Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, one of the most eventful days out of a couples year. Expectations run high for an exciting day. However, it’s often difficult to find ideas other than the typical dinner date. Can you say boring? We live in Boone, so take advantage of these exciting alternative date ideas for this Valentine’s Day!

1. Skiing or Snowboarding

Do something a little more adventurous and head to the slopes. This year Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday, which means lift tickets won’t run too high! Also head over to 1st Tracks to get 50 percent off of rentals!

2. Ice Skating

Not feeling dangerous enough to ski? That’s okay, head over to the slopes anyways, but opt for a more relaxing activity! Ice skating!

3. Watch the sunset

Drive to some great lookouts across town to watch the sunset. Pack up the car with blankets, hot chocolate with Bailey’s, and dinner.

4. Drive the Parkway

Assuming that the Parkway is open, go for a drive, drive a direction that you aren’t as familiar with and see if you can find a new hiking spot!

5. King Street

Take a stroll down King Street and shop through all the wonderful local shops.

6. Stay in

Rent a few movies from Red Box, light some candles, pour some wine, snuggle up and watch movies all day long. Then make a nice dinner together with more wine, of course.

Those are a few great Valentine’s Day date ideas other than the typical dinner date in Boone, NC. For extra points bring some flowers for your significant other.

Enjoy your fun filled day with your love!
