With this last week of school behind us and summer finally here, the Her Campus AppState Collegiettes are taking time off and going our separate ways. Wondering what we’re going to be up too while HCAppState is on hiatus? Take a minute to find out where our staff will be spending our summers and what we are all looking forward to most when we get to where we’re going
Laureston Hawley (Upcoming Head of Public Relations): I’m going to be in BOONETOWN! I love going to the dam to lay out on a giant rock.
Brittany Fielding (Writer): I am looking forward to traveling to the Big Apple every couple of weeks!
Haley Cahill (Writer): I’m heading home to West Virginia. I am excited for long bike rides through the mountains, seeing friends and family and soaking up some summer sun!
Laura Maddox (President/EIC): I’m interning in BOSTON! I’m excited to get a preview of my future career, drink Starbucks in the morning, live with my twin sister, see the Boston Pops for the 4th of July, go shopping at H&M, and to finally fulfill my dream (at least temporarily) of living in a big city!!
Lena Aloumari (VP/Editor): I will be spending my summer in the nation’s capital just trying to soak up everything from my internship and D.C.!
Emily Bishop (Writer): I will be going back and forth between Cary and Boone this summer. I am looking forward to going to Nashville for a week in June for the Country Music Festival!
And here’s a look as to what our graduating staff members are going to be up to:
Emily Helm (Outgoing Director of Public Relations): I'm looking forward to my toes in the water, [butt] in the sand, not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand.... Oops I took the words right out of ZBB’s mouth. But really though, I love the beach so much!!
Katie Strasser (Writer): I can't wait to go to the farmer's market in Raleigh, plan beach trips, and know that I never have to register for a class again!
Jessie Reda (Outgoing VP of Public Relations): I’ll be in Charlotte what, what! I’m excited for summer nights and country concerts!
Grace Adams (Public Relations): I’ll be moving to New York on May 19 and I am excited to live in the city, work in fashion PR and learn as much as I can about the industry, and work Fashion Week!
Melissa Vega (Writer): I’ll be in New York City for a few days this summer to work on a PR campaign before leaving for Thailand on the 20th! Then I’ll be taking full advantage of living in the beautiful town of Boone before moving to the Philippines.
Her Campus AppState wishes you all an awesome summer 2012!
