What are you involved in on campus?

The ASE program, ACT (service advisor), SOUL, Cru and Chi Omega.

Where are you leading your ASE trip and what will you be doing?

I’m leading my iASE to El Quimal, Guatemala. We will be working with Service for Peace to help create the first secondary school in the area!

What is your favorite thing about ASE?

My favorite thing about ASE is the way it seems to magically create groups of people who come together without knowing each other and leave the end of their programs as friends, teammates and individuals who desire change in the world. It never fails, we call it ASE magic!

What made you want to lead a trip?

I had such a phenomenal experience when I went on an ASE to the Dominican Republic that I wanted to be a part of creating that experience for someone else. It was such a turning point for me in college and an important part of who I am today, I feel like now it’s my turn to hopefully pass that along to my participants.

What would you recommend people do if they want to get more involved on campus?

If you want to get more involved on campus, jump in! Take note of every poster you see that’s advertising an opportunity, every time you see someone post on Facebook about their organization, every announcement you hear about happenings on campus and then just go for it. The more you put yourself out there and become aware of your options in terms of involvement, the more you will find yourself in organizations that become a good home.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would either be to be working at a university with their alternative break program (like ASE) or at a non-profit organization whose focus is on international service.
