Q: What is something that people are surprised to know about you?
A: Haha, that I don’t play basketball!  Being 6’8”, people ask me all of the time whether or not I play basketball, and they’re astounded to hear that I don’t.  Besides that, I would say that most people are surprised that I’m actually originally from England.  I was born in London and lived there until I was nearly 7.  I barely have an accent, though it does still come out sometimes.

Q: What is on your bucket list before graduation?
A: Go to Hebron.  Amazingly enough, I have yet to go to Hebron, and I have been a student here for 3 and a half years!

Q: Who is your favorite Disney princess?
A: ……… Really? Ugh, if I have to choose one, I guess Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  She’s Hannah’s favorite (my fiancé), and I honestly don’t give a crap about Disney movies, so why not trust the expert.

Q: Do you have funny experiences with a girl using a pick up line on you or vice versa?
A: Not necessarily involving a pick-up line, but I have quite a few experiences with some ridiculous things being said to me…  Seriously, some of them are so insane that I can’t even disclose what was said.

Q: If you could only eat one kind of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Bangers and mash.  For those who don’t know what that is, it’s English sausages and mashed potatoes.  It’s a massive essential in the English cuisine, so it’s kind of a no-brainer honestly.

Q: If you could trade places with one superhero, who would it be and why?
A: The Incredible Hulk.  No one messes around with that guy.  He seriously could rip someone’s head off just by looking at them.

Q: What has been the best part about being engaged?
A:
Honestly, the planning.  The more progress we have made, the more it has become a reality, and the excitement has built consistently because of that.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about getting married?
A: Beginning my life with Hannah.  I’m just looking forward to her being my wife, and me being her husband.  As well as that, I’m looking forward to living with her, starting a home with her… basically all of the things that come with being married haha.

Q: When’s the big day?!
A: July 28!  I honestly can’t believe how quickly time is going by, but to say I’m excited about that would be an understatement.

The happy couple! Hannah Scearce and Joe Hawksworth

Q: What is the best relationship advice you can give to someone?
A: Be in rhythm with yourself before you try to be in rhythm with someone else.   Basically, you need to be comfortable and content being single.  As soon as you are truly content with that, you set yourself up to be in a solid relationship.

Q: Celebrity crush? Man and/or female.
A: Male – Ryan Gosling and Cristiano Ronaldo
Female – Jessica Biel, Sophia Bush, and Keira Knightley

Q: Favorite date place in Boone?
A: Primo’s.  They have great food and a great atmosphere.  Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t been before.
