For the entirety of my existence, I can vouch for the fact that I have never spent more than twenty dollars on absolutely any beauty product. While I am certainly a lover of all things Lush cosmetics and beauty guru videos on YouTube, a whopping seventy dollar face mask would usually never be something I would consider purchasing.

Over spring break, I jumped at the opportunity to make a trip to Sephora (since I don’t have one at home). As I perused through the glamorous isles of cosmetics, I happened upon the GlamGlow Super Mud mask that I had seen all over Pinterest and Facebook. Long story short, an employee enthusiastically convinced me that I needed this mask, and I purchased it.

I used the mask as soon as I came home, and I was impressed from the moment I put it on my face. The first thing I noticed is that the mask did not burn or irritate my skin upon application. In the past, any effective mask usually stings my skin at least a little, but this mask was different. It goes on as a dark grey-blue color and when dried it fades to a light green-grey appearance. It definitely makes your face feel tight, but it’s nothing too unbearable.

Now here is the coolest aspect to this mask: GlamGlow developed a PORE-MATRIXTM system that claims to pull the dirt, excess oil, and other “bad stuff” out of your face while leaving little dark dots that you can see through the mask. Although it sounds super gross to see all of the gunk come out of your face, it is somewhat satisfying to be able to see that your pores are really getting a deep clean.

After about 10-15 minutes, the mask is ready to come off. The end result: clean, fresh, and smooth feeling skin. I was taken aback by how wonderful my face smelled after taking off the mask. It was a peppermint scent with a hint of eucalyptus, making you feel like you just left the spa. Having very dry and sensitive skin, I typically have to use a moisturizer after using strong products like this one, but my face was surprisingly soft. I was floored.

While I have only been using this mask a few short weeks, the results really do show on my skin. I do not have extremely acne prone skin (besides the occasional, inconvenient breakout here and there), but my face has definitely been softer and brighter since I have been using the mask. I use it about two times a week, sometimes just in certain areas like my nose, forehead, or chin.

Seventy bucks seems like a large amount to throw at a face mask, but the results of the mask make the expense worth it. GlamGlow also offers the same type of mask but with slight variations depending on different skin types. Whether you have sensitive skin, aging skin, or acne prone skin, GlamGlow has a face mask to offer.

10/10 would recommend.
