As senior year is winding down for some, and just another year is winding down for others, it is time to think about the things we want to experience before we leave our little college town! I asked some fellow mountaineers what they would have on their Appstate bucket list and compiled a long list of fun things to do before you leave. Whether you are leaving in May or are here for another couple years, here is your App State Bucket List:
1. Take “that” picture at Rough Ridge
2. Sing karaoke at Galileo’s
3. Go camping
4. Watch a Quidditch match
5. Drink a beer at Appalachian Mountain Brewery
6. Jump off a waterfall (or 5)
7. Jump off the dam
8. Buy coffee for a stranger in the Wired Scholar or Crossroads
9. Attend the 1st Friday King Street Art Crawl
10. Study Abroad
11. Tube down the river
12. Participate in Homecoming events
13. Eat at all the local restaurants at least once
14. Ride the train at Tweetsie Railroad
15. Own at least one Macado’s holiday pint glass
16. Participate in Polar Plunge
17. Write your own Appstate Confession/Crush
18. Watch the sunrise/sunset on the parkway
19. Play a game of mini golf on 105
20. Get a picture with the chancellor
21. Get a picture with Yosef
22. Learn to slack line
23. Eat a dish of interesting animal meat at the Gamekeeper
24. Get a free shamrock tattoo at Speakeasy
25. Get involved in at least one awesome organization on campus
26. Go on an Alternative Service Experience trip
27. Get lost in the smaller towns around Boone (Linville, Banner Elk, etc.)
28. Hike to the top of Howard’s Knob
29. Do the trailer park bar crawl in one night (Tapp, Klondike, Parthenon)
30. Go to Taco Tuesday…. and Wednesday
31. Get late night Boone Bagelry
32. Make a day trip to Asheville
33. Go to a concert at Legends
34. Walk across the stage in convocation in your cap and gown and realize you went to the greatest university ever!
